Bus and rail API integration
Ground transport is low value per booking and high frequency, which makes it excellent for customer retention and impossible to handle manually. It only works if the whole flow is self-service.
What bus booking needs
- Wide operator coverage on the routes your customers actually travel
- Real seat layouts, not a seat count
- Boarding and dropping point selection captured at booking
- Operator, bus type and amenity detail so customers can choose
- Cancellation charges that vary by operator and timing
- Ticket delivery by SMS and WhatsApp, since customers travel with a phone
What rail booking needs
- Authorised partner access, which is a commercial prerequisite
- Class and quota handling specific to the rail system
- Waitlist position shown honestly rather than hidden
- Passenger identity fields captured in the required format
- A refund regime that is entirely unlike air
- Booking records in the same back office as every other product
Why agencies bother
- Frequency: a customer books rail and bus far more often than flights
- Retention: each booking is a reason to be the agency they open first
- Attachment: ground legs sell alongside the flight already booked
- Agent credit: sub-agents sell it on the same wallet and limit
- Zero marginal handling once the flow is self-service

Is ground transport worth the integration effort?
The margin per booking is small, so it is not worth doing manually. Done as a self-service flow it is worth a lot, because it changes how often your customers deal with you — and frequency is what makes an agency the default choice for the expensive bookings.
Do I need special authorisation for rail?
In India, yes. Rail access is restricted to authorised partners under specific conditions. We integrate against the access you hold; obtaining it is a commercial process on your side.
Can bus and rail use agent credit?
Yes. One wallet, one ledger and one credit limit across every product line, so a sub-agent's exposure is a single number.
