Flight API integration
Most agencies need more than one air source. A GDS covers full-service carriers, an aggregator fills the low-cost gaps, NDC carries what airlines hold back, and your own negotiated fares sit on top. The job of the platform is to make that look like one search.
What a complete air mix usually looks like
- A GDS for full-service carriers and international itineraries
- An aggregator or consolidator for low-cost carrier coverage
- NDC connections for content airlines withhold from the GDS
- Your own negotiated and private fares loaded as a supplier
- A charter or series block where you hold your own inventory
How the sources are merged
- One search fans out to every active source in parallel
- Identical itineraries de-duplicated, with your rule deciding which source wins
- Per-source markup applied before the customer sees a price
- Slow sources timed out rather than allowed to block results
- Source labelled in the back office and hidden on the front end
- Per-supplier margin and win rate reported so you can prune what does not pay
What has to work beyond search
- Price revalidation before payment on every source
- Ticketing under your own IATA or your consolidator's
- Void inside the window, then cancellation, reissue and refund
- Schedule-change capture into your operations queue
- Ancillaries where the source exposes them
- ADM exposure tracked against the booking that caused it

How many air sources should I run?
Enough to cover your routes and no more. Every source adds search latency and, on some agreements, a cost per shopping request. Two or three is common: a GDS, an aggregator and either NDC or your own negotiated fares. The per-supplier reports show when one has stopped earning its place.
Can I start without any air contracts of my own?
Yes. Start on consolidator content and add your own GDS or airline agreements as they come through. Nothing needs rebuilding when you do — a new source is a configuration change, not a project.
What happens when two sources return the same flight?
It is de-duplicated, and your rule decides which one is shown. Most agencies show whichever gives the better net position after markup; some prioritise a supplier for volume commitments.
